As most of you know, the highest speed DVD±R media available to the consumer market is 16 speed, so Pioneer must be doing something special with their 20x DVD±R Re-Writer. According to Pioneer, if using 16x media, you should be able to see up to 25 per cent extra read and write speed. As we all know, Pioneer are generally regarded in the electronics market as a reliable brand that you can trust, they have been around since the beginning of time and produce award winning products ranging from plasma TV’s, GPS devices and of course optical drives such as the one we are looking at today.

I have the Pioneer 2920Q Black and its a great drive. I did have a problem with a Western Digital Formatting setup CD. It should boot up like a floppy but it wouldn’t. It said no CD-rom detected even thought it was just reading the CD.. I have never had that happen before. I am glad it isn’t something important like a backup disc or I would be really up the creek without a paddle.
