Acer Unveils Predator X27 4K HDR 144Hz Monitors with Quantum Dot Technology

As part of a press event on Thursday, Acer has announced the Predator X27 and Predator Z271UV gaming monitors, both featuring Quantum Dot technology and both offer stutter-free gaming via NVIDIA G-Sync and sharper images via NVIDIA ultra-low motion blur. Their bigger brother the 34-inch Predator X34 was actually reviewed here at eTeknix and received our Gamer’s Choice award and it also prompted us to consider whether Ultra-wide gaming is the future. Those who found the 34-inch Predator too expensive at £999 will be glad to see not just one but two more affordable options for a slightly smaller screen size.

“Acer is excited to be expanding our premium gaming monitor line-up with two new quantum dot models to make gameplay more lifelike than ever before,” said Victor Chien, President, Digital Display Business, Acer Inc. “The Predator X27’s 4K resolution at 144 Hz and Acer HDR Ultra technology create dazzling visuals that must be seen to be believed. Acer’s new Predator Z271UV will also thrill gaming enthusiasts with its rich color gamut and immersive curved display.”

The Predator X27 is a 4K (3840 x 2160) HDR 144Hz monitor, supporting 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. It has a fast 4ms response time with a 1,000 nit peak brightness. The Predator Z271UV on the other hand is a curved 1800R panel display with a slightly smaller WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440) and has 125% sRGB color space support. It is extremely fast having 1 ms response time (3 ms native), and can be overclocked up to 165Hz for motion-blur free gaming. This display can tilt 5 to 25 degrees and swivel up or down 30 degrees, with a height adjustment of up to 4.7 inches. Connectivity includes DisplayPort, HDMI, audio-out, and USB 3.0 x 4 (1 up 4 down).
