At stock the Alpenfohn Brocken performed very well indeed. Like the Matterhorn Pure it excels at its price point and other similar priced CPU coolers like the Hyper 412 Slim and Mugen 3 can’t get close.

It was pretty quiet too and was one of the quietest solutions we tested.

Overclocking saw the Brocken maintain its position near the top and it did very well given how quiet and reasonably priced it is. Being slightly cheaper than the Mugen 3 seeing it fall behind a bit is hardly surprising.

Acoustics were impressive under overclocked load, even at 100% fan speed the noise was tolerable and inside a case it would be a lot better.
