Analysts Predict Xbox One Will Lose To The PS4 In Europe

xbox_one_console_onlyIHS screen digest analyst Piers Harding-Rolls has been telling Edge that he believes the PlayStation 4 will outsell the Xbox One in Europe. Apparently the main reason for this will be the €100 price different between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

“We believe price will be the biggest differentiating feature and have slightly adjusted down our Xbox One sales expectation for continental Europe at launch, based on the €100 gap in pricing. It was clear Microsoft needed to do something to douse the flames of discontent and the U turn means early adopters can now make a straight purchase decision based on content, price and features between the Xbox One and PS4.”

Even though Microsoft has made a u-turn on its DRM policies it could still lose out to the PS4 as consumers make trade-off decisions and see that the PS4 works out better value for money. The existing userbase and loyalty of the brands will also play a huge role in the battle of the next-generation consoles.

“Those consumers already embedded in Xbox Live and PSN are less likely to jump ship which changes the dynamic for this gen’s launch. Beyond these aspects both platforms have differing value propositions. Xbox One’s broadcast overlay offer is skewed towards the US consumer at launch and PS4 has some interesting features using streaming technology.”

Europe has always been favourable to Sony’s PS4 so it will be interesting to see if that holds true with the new generation of consoles.

Xbox one config is inferior than PS4 and going by the config only we could say that xbox would lose out, everywhere.

xbox one has lots of nice features but most of them wont work if your outside the US. Its nothing new though they have been adding new add-ons that we don’t see or see lesser versions of in Europe since the first xbox. Add to that the PS4 is more powerful and cheaper the choice really isnt a difficult one if your considering a next gen console.
