Arctic show off the i30 and A30 CPU coolers at CES

At CES Arctic Cooling have been showing off their i30 and A30 CPU coolers. Identical in design the only difference between the two is the fact the i30 comes with an Intel mounting kit for LGA 2011/1155/1156 hence the ‘i’ and the A30 comes with AMD mounting brackets for Am3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2 hence the ‘A’.  The core design is based of a single aluminium heat sink tower apparently capable of dealing with up to 320W of thermal load.

The heatsink uses four 8 mm thick copper heat pipes that make direct contact with the processor at the base of the CPU tower. The heat pipes pass through the heatsink, which is then ventilated by a 120 mm PWM-controlled fan with a uniquely designed frame. Rubber standoffs attach the fan to the heatsink dampening vibrations and reducing noise output. The retention clips come attached to the heatsink out of the box. A 0.5g syringe of Arctic MX-4 compound is included, while the coolers’ base don’t come with the compound pre-applied.
