Batman: Arkham Knight PC Port Relaunching Within Weeks

The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is nothing short of an excruciating mess and riddled by optimization issues, instability, and graphical bugs. Rocksteady has a mountain to climb to restore faith in the studio and rebuild their reputation. Finally, there is some good news as Warner Brothers subtly included a prediction launch date for the revised PC port in their latest DLC Release Notes.

Batman: Arkham Knight is based on DC Comics’ core Batman license and is available now for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft. The PC version of the game will be available in the coming weeks.”

I find it quite difficult to comprehend that the complete shambles of the PC edition will have been fixed in such a short time. After hearing of the widespread problems, I assumed it could be at least 2-3 months before everything was ironed out. Kudos to Rocksteady if they have achieved this but any remaining faults with the game will be heavily publicized. Furthermore, if recent speculation is true, nothing will change the fact that Rocksteady willingly took money from PC Gamers knowing how broken their experience was going to be. This whole saga once again illustrates games in the digital, modern era should not be pre-ordered. There isn’t a short supply, codes are not limited, be patient and wait to hear feedback from others.

How often do you pre-order Video Games?

Thank You DSOGaming for providing us with this information.

    1. They delayed the game twice. It was originally scheduled on Oct.14 2014 then was delayed to June 2nd 2015 THEN to June 23rd with promises that they’re tweaking the game for maximum performance.
    2. They used the same notorious company (Iron Galaxy) to deal with the PC port knowing what poor job they did with the previous titles.
    3. The PC port was done by 12 people – a bad choice for a title like this.
    4. Even though the game looks great on consoles, on PC is a total disaster – low framerate, glitches, bugs, crashes… not to mention the people’s impossibility to play it on AMD video cards.
    5. In 2015 to have a game locked at 30fps on all 3 platforms… bad choice.
    6. Nvidia lied shamelessly about the game’s 60fps on PC showing speedup videos.
    7. All the mentioned companies including the publisher Warner Bros knew about the game’s PC issues and yet they decided to launch it anyway, main reason – greed.
So after they were faced with the huge backlash from gaming community (mostly PC users), bad reviews and refunds, WB decides to pull off the PC version from stores until the game is repaired. Well the damage was already done thus it will be quite a long time until these companies (especially Rocksteady) will gain our trust again.
Consumers should never be blinded by these pre-order, season pass, DLCs or 1st day buy craps.
It is a good thing that gaming community had it with this bullshit and I hope publishers and developers will think twice in the future but that remains to be seen.
So, is Arkham Knight THE game Rocksteady promised?
Pro – it is the best looking in the series, improved gameplay mechanics.
Con – predictable story with disappointing reveal – yup, Jason Todd aka Red Hood in a military suit isn’t that new and original – even though the Batmo… ahem Bat-Tank was a cool addition yet it was too much stuffed in our throats, those drones and finally besides the thugs and cops the city is empty again.
Overall: a hit and miss. 3 outta 5
