The Enthusiast series currently comes in 8 different flavours ranging from 550W to 950W, although there are different versions of some units, including the TX750. I will be taking a look at the 750W unit. Looking at the power table, we can see that the unit outputs 740W through its 12V rail which means that the unit is capable of providing almost all of it’s power to the all-important components such as graphics cards and CPUs when required. The unit uses a single rail design, which after recently testing 8-rail and 4-rail PSUs recently, invoked pure joy in my heart! Single rail PSUs are much easier to configure as it does not require any balancing, and are one hundred times easier to set up on load testers!

The TX750M includes a good selection of cables for a unit of this power, allowing for duel video card solutions. I would also say that the braiding used on Corsair units is the best in the industry- the coloured cables on the 24-pin ATX connector are barely visible through the weave and the black wire used on the modular cables gives it a really finished appearance. I still haven’t worked out why manufacturers don’t use all-black cables on everything, it’s not like those assembling the units or modding them won’t know the pinouts! The ribbon-style cables used on the peripheral and SATA cables are excellent as they allow for easier routing considering they are used to connect to HDDs and front-bay devices, and they look really sleek!
