At London’s Southbank Centre on September 2nd, 3rd and 4th VSM takes place, Vision Sound Music – the UKʼs first festival of music for visuals, so what bearing does this bring to eTeknix ? well there will be a number of video game related events happening there.

Friday will see the first of these with sessions, the use of Xbox Kinect as an advertising platform hosted by Microsoft executive Tom McQuillin exploring how brands can make use of the new technology to bring their products into peoples living rooms.

The second presentation relating to gaming will be the Synchronising of music to games and adverts, from conception to music selection and artist approval, this session is held by Duncan Smith a Music Supervisor at Sony Computers in London and take you through the various processes involved in bring music to games such as SingStar, DanceStar Party, Motorstorm, and HeavyRain, the session will use Resistance 3 as the example throughout.

By far the most interesting offering will be Video Game Hero’s at 7.30pm on Friday night with The London Philharmonic Orchestra playing the greatest selection of music from the gaming industry and hosted by Iain Lee (comedian and radio presenter).

I’ve been obsessed with video games since I was 8 years old. From the early days of my Dragon 32 right through to the 360, PS3 and Wii. It’s great to see the music from games finally getting the respect it deserves. What could be better than hearing these famous pieces played by the superb London Philharmonic Orchestra? I am so excited to be a part of this extraordinary event

Tickets and pricing information are available from SouthbankCentre.
