Metal Gear Online will be fully revealed next week, at The Game Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hideo Kojima, series creator and gaming God will be there to “world premiere Metal Gear Online” according to The Game Awards’ host Geoff Keighley, who took to Twitter to announce the news. Metal Gear Online was originally part of the PS3 version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as well as being sold separately as a standalone game in Japan. The game features online gaming for up to 16 players in a bunch of different modes that included deathmatch, team stealth, capture and rescue.
The new Metal Gear Online will be the multiplayer side of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which is due to be released next year. During an interview with CVG earlier in the year, Kojima said that the online game would be paired up with the next outing in the MGS world. He said “Multiplayer right now is being created at our LA studio as well as us. We’re working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all the fans.”
The Game Awards 2014 kicks off on December 5, where it will be livestreamed pretty much everywhere; PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Wii U, Steam, YouTube, Twitch, and more.
