More leaked news on bulldozer specs

Information leaks for Asus give us more ideas on what to be expected from next months Bulldozer launch. The information was obtained via bios information for one of the 990FX Asus motherboards. All these processors therefore are AM3+.

News of 4 processors was leaked:

  • FX-8130P 8cores @ 3.8GHz (4.2GHz turbo) TDP 125 W $320
  • FX-8110 8cores @3.6GHz (4GHz turbo) TDP 95W $290
  • FX-6110 6cores TDP 95W $240 (no info on clock speeds)
  • FX-4110 4cores TDP 95W $190 (no info on clock speeds)

Given the suggested pricing and clock speeds of the 8 core bulldozers it seems like they will be competing with the top end sandybridge processor (2600K), offering similar performance for a lower price. The 2600K costs typically $360 or more whereas the high end 8 core bulldozer will arrive for $40 less whilst the six core for around $120 less.

Thanks! Nice job by AMD in keeping prices competitive as always. Intel or AMD? I'm going to have a hard time deciding.

So am I. My Current rig Phenom II 1055T and HD6950 hasn't really impressed me. I wanted to go Intel but, Bulldozer is so tempting! I think I'll save the money to be honest.. Well I'll get the FX-8130P $320 one. Thats a really high standard clock my crappy Phenom II won't even stay stable at 3.8 lol.. (Probz my PSU.. Shh )Nice article by the way thanks Ryan :p

I always wanted an intel based pc but too expensive. Whats your cpu voltage did you apply for your overclock?

id love it if AMD bulldoze the competition.i have a 2600K to put in on saturday, but i think im an AMD fanboi secretly :D!price looks epic on these cpu's

Well, I started low as you do but kept turning it up because it wouldn't boot into Windows. It sat around 1.55v at one point. I was too scared to raise it up any higher as that is ridiculously high anyway..

looking great! good prices for what they seem to be too! ๐Ÿ˜€

is there any more word on higher RAM speed supported natively?that should drive down 1866MHZ+ RAM prices :D!

The prices are fine at the moment, you can buy 2133MHz 4GB for £50 the G.Skill RipjawsX F3 Andy reviewed Manufacterers need lower the timings of there ram now and focus less on bumping the speed.

  • lucas4

that g-skill is a phenomenal price, but the 1866+ 8gb kits seem overpriced to me :(!i also agree that tighter timings are needed.8gb of 1866+ CL7/8 for under £80 would just be amazing !

Dunno 8GB kits for just under £100 seems about right.

  • lucas4

id like to see them a lil cheaper tbh.its a big jump of ~50% from the 8gb 1333 kits @~£65 to the 8gb 1866+ kits @~£100.probably just me being tight tho :p!anyway, if BD helps drop RAM prices, i wont complain :D!

Keep saying I will go Intel i5 but waiting a bit longer on the Bulldozer.

i would defo wait right now. even if BD performs worse, its sure to shake up prices and offer more options ๐Ÿ™‚

Oi that'll b interesting :D! I'd love AMD to really compete!Put it this way, the boards being released will have no trouble OCing like hell :D!!

  • Grim_Reaper

Not healthy frequencies for powerful CPU at all. I won't wonder if it's secretly K10 "updated". Anyway, it will be great for price lowering for actual products, and good for competition between AMD and Intel. I don't say it's crap, 'cause nobody seen it yet, but looks like Intel is going to keep monopoly for yet several years, or at least until AMD will make something worthy.
