MSI’s Interceptor Series Nighthawk chassis smiles for the camera

MSI has unexpectedly introduced a new case, although it has yet to be made official, TestFreaks got an early chance at testing out the Interceptor Series Nighthawk ATX mid-tower PC.

Measuring 180 x 475 x 448 mm (WxHxL), the Nighthawk presents a spacious mid-tower PC with what you find on most computer chassis nowadays. As is customary with various of its high-end motherboards, MSI once again employs the “Military Class” branding to describe the improved resistance of the case.

Starting with the front, the I/O panel is equipped with one USB 3.0, three USB 2.0, audio ports as well as a built-in 12-in-1 memory card reader. Drive bays include four tool-less 5.25″ external bays and six 3.5″ internal drives bays, five of which are tool-less.

Black inside and out, you will find some deep blue on a couple of components including the fans; the 120mm blue LED lit front-intake, the 200mm side intake and the 120mm rear exhaust. More can be added, two 120mm top fans, one 120mm bottom or even replace the side 200mm for two 120mm fans.

The case supports motherboards in both ATX and Micro ATX form factor, the PSU is mounted on the bottom, liquid cooling is supported, same for multi-GPU with up to 310mm in length, seven expansion slots are available and the motherboard tray allows cable management although to a very low level (as seen below).

With the Nighthawk still not showing up on the MSI product page it is rather unsure when it’ll be available. We do know however that it will be backed by a three year warranty and will be priced at $79.99.
