How Much Does The GTX 1080 Cost?

GTX 1080

The NVIDIA GTX 1080 is twice the performance per watt of the GTX Titan X and offers huge performance gains compared to the company’s previous flagship. Of course, the GTX Titan X launched at an eye-watering $999.99 price point and you would expect the GTX 1080 to follow a similar pricing model. However, NVIDIA has shocked the graphics market and decided to launch the GTX 1080 at $599. This is an astonishing turnaround and makes the GTX 1080 a very tempting proposition for users who want to go down the SLI route for around $1000. I can easily see this selling incredibly well and becoming the new card of choice for gamers utilising high-resolution monitors.

I’m absolutely thrilled by this development and consumers won’t have to wait long to get their hands on NVIDIA’s fastest graphics card so far. This is a very competitive price and the card features 8GB GDDR5X memory. This amount of VRAM is superb if you’re running games at high details or using a VR headset.

Personally I think that 1080 price should be compared with 980, which was $549 at launch. I would expect the launch of 1080Ti in six months time at the $699 price point, because 980Ti was priced $100 more than non-Ti version, and both 7xx and 9xx had first x80 and x70 launches followed by x80Ti six months later.
