New solid state drives from OCZ hit 1.5GB/s read speed

OCZ has launched its newest range of Solid State Drives running of the PCI-E 2.0 X4 interface. The RevoDrive3 and RevoDrive3 X2 will use the new VCA 2.0 flash virtualisation technology which essentially allows the drive to work significantly faster than previous generation drives. OCZ are aiming this new product line at the professional market by stating the “new workstation-class storage product accelerates application performance and takes full advantage of today’s multithreaded processors and software, providing customers with greater throughput in an easy-to-deploy, single card solution.”

The drives will be available in 240, 480 and 960GB (X2 model only) versions and expect significant price tags to be placed on these super fast workstation-class SSD’s. The full range of specifications can be seen here:
