DX11 will put AMD onto a whole different level.
To see the comparison to the new DX11, one must go back to DX9 AMD’s SVP Rick Bergman comments. By doing so, game developers and engineers will be given the wow factor. This is the main reason that AMD are pushing to be the first to have DX11 ready hardware to take to market.
Rick Bergman also comments on the amount of titles that would take advantage of this new technology. He replied saying that he knew of four to give ISVs that are working hard to pump out games ready for the consumers.
AMD are hoping to get ahead of rivals Nvidia, by being the first to harvest DX11 and to put AMD in a good future proof position.
Bergman is very excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for not only AMD, but also for the end user and because of this, all energy from AMD is being focussed on DX11, whilst Nvidia are looking at other technologies including GP-GPU and Open CL.
Maybe this will give AMD the big advantage with market share, and we will see a lot of users converting over to AMD.
