Since the launch of the Radeon HD 5670 yesterday, we have been inundated with press releases and inside scoops on the latest offering’s from ATI’s partners.
We published a preview of the Radeon HD 5670 yesterday of which we showed you a teaser picture and some lovely do dally benchmarks. The response that we got from this was fantastic, and there is ONE reason why………Value For Money. Simply put, most graphics cards appeal to the inner child, the heart of gaming if you will. The 5670 however, appeals to our wallet and most likely, our significant other.
Lucky for us, ATI’s partners know this, and everyone from Asus to HIS, from MSI to XFX are working their socks off to show us what they have tucked up their sleeve.
Normally you’d expect the standard ATI reference with the same cooler, with a fancy design on it. Not with HIS though.
HIS have announced its own Radeon HD 5670 that will be available in both flavours, whether you want the 512MB or the 1GB version. Pretty standard stuff, yeah?
There is a twist, and like all great stories, i love a twist. The HIS Radeon HD5670 brands something of a unique selling point, compared to its competitors. It comes fully equipped with HIS’ famous Dual slot IceQ+ cooler.

Both variants of the card (memory wise) work at the standard core clock speed of 775MHz and an astonishing 4000MHz memory clock speed. Still maintaining the original specs from the preview, it comes complete with 400 stream processors, ATI Eyefinity, ATI Stream technology, DirectX 11 compatible, a 128-bit memory interface and low power output.
You will also see many various different connections on the Radeon HD 5670 as it crops up from different vendors. HIS have decided to go with a D-Sub, HDMI and DVI output.
The HIS branded cards should be available in any good e-tailer shortly, but do expect to pay a bit more than other brands, due to its award winning IceQ+ cooler.
