Maingear show us their extreme systems

Maingear Computers is a brand that only a select few may have heard of. A lot of consumers see them as the long awaited rival to leading computer manufacturer Alienware, others see them as a copy of Alienware. Here at eTeknix.com we see them as a brand trying to make it in the big world, and give them full support and hope that they give leaders like Alienware (now owned by Dell) the run for their money that is needed.

Maingear Computers have launched a new gaming PC which shows off its power and luxury.

Welcome the F1X Series.

The F1X Series currently includes three extreme systems, the F1X 200, which is based on the famous P55 platform, the F1X 500 and F1X 750 which are both running on the X58 Intel platform.

Specifications of the F1X 200 include a Core i5 750 (overclocked to 2.93GHz) processor, 8Gb of Kingston DDR3 1333MHz memory, a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB hard drive, dual ATi Radeon HD 5750’s in ATi CrossFire, a 22x dual-layer DVD Re-Writer with lightscribe and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit edition operating system preloaded. An ample system for extreme gaming. Price of this unit is $2,249.99. Can you say value for money?

Specifications of the F1X 500 include a meatier Core i7 960 (overclocked to 3.46GHz) processor, 12GB of Kingston triple channel DDR3 1333MHz memory, a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB hard drive, dual ATi Radeon HD 5770’s in ATi CrossFire, a 22x dual-layer DVD Re-Writer with lightscribe and Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit edition operating system preloaded. Show me the money! Price of this unit is $3,099.99. I’m sure they wife would let you, no?

Specifications of the F1X 750 include an extreme set of components. Includes are a Core i7 975 Extreme Edition (overclocked to 3.66GHz) processor, 12GB of Kingston triple channel DDR3 1333MHz memory, a 80GB Intel X-25M Gen2 SSD and a 1.5TB Western Digital Green SATA hard drive, dual ATi Radeon HD 5870’s in ATi CrossFire, a Blu-ray burner and 22x dual-layer DVD Re-Writer and Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit edition operating system preloaded. Sounds SWEEEEEEEEEET! Price of this unit is $5,159.99. Time for a second mortgage I think.

All of the above packages include a one-year warranty, which for the extra money (if you have any left) an extended warranty of up to $999.98 for an extended 3 year, 4 hour onsite warranty which begins on day one.

All units also come with the X29 Series liquid cooling system for extreme performance and stability. Sounds brrrrrrrrrrrrilliant!

These PC’s are clearly not aimed at the mass consumer market, as I can hardly imagine a double glazing windows operation running 70 of these machines. Just like Alienware, these are aimed at a specialist market.

Availability is currently only showing at US stockists – TigerDirect.com, CircuitCity.com and CompUSA.com. Seems us fellows on this side of the pond will have to wait, or pay extortionate shipping costs. Should be worth it for a set of mighty systems though?

Wow, that sounds like a nice set of systems, completely agree with the rival that Alienware needs. Maybe it will envoke a price war of sorts?
