The PowerColor LCS HD 5970 features a full mounted water block, with a copper base covering over the memory as well as the power regulator chip. Due to the copper base, and its fantastic cooling properties, it is designed to reduce temperatures by up to 30°C when compared with the reference version. This should get enthusiasts and the like excited about the overclockability it will hold.
Barbs include a high-flow 3/8″ and 1/2″ fittings to maximize water flow. To prevent leakage, captured o-rings are also included. This gives the flexibility to customize an already existing liquid cooled setup.
This HD5970 also comes with a few tricks up its sleeve with a slightly clocked GPU running at a speed of 750MHz and featuring an astounding speed of 4200MHz out of its 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

As with all PC components, they work better at cooler temperatures and PowerColor believe that the most efficient cooling should be used with the fastest GPU which will in turn offer stability and coupled with ATi Stream technology, ATi Eyefinity and DirectX 11, give an outstanding gaming experience.
Word on the interweb is that Dirt2 will be bundled with the LCS HD 5970, so that this card can really show off the latest DirectX 11 technology in all its glory, offering super high frame rates and fluid game play. Dirt 2 is the most popular racing game in the shops and offers an array of extreme driving in real world locations. Expect some of the most realistic graphics and immense game play you have never seen with this game and graphics card package.
The PowerColor LCS HD 5970 is due to hit the shelves on 21st January 2010, but no word on pricing has been announced as of yet. Let’s hope it’s cheaper than buying an aftermarket water block.
