NZXT Kraken X40 Liquid CPU Cooler Review

The NZXT Kraken X40 posts some pretty good numbers on the stock Intel Core i5 3570K. It falls in behind the two flagship 240mm (120mm X2) liquid CPU coolers from Corsair (H100i) and Thermaltake (Water 2.0 Extreme) and above the two 120mm liquid CPU coolers from Corsair (H55) and Cooler Master (Seidon 120M). In this respect it is performing roughly where it should be for its specifications.
Overclocking changes everything. Although the Kraken X40 maintains the same position – third place, the gap between it and other similar products starts to increase (notably between the H55 and Seidon 120M). The step-up from a 120mm radiator and fan to a 140mm radiator and fan has clearly made a large difference. All I can say is these performance figures are very impressive and I am quite surprised with how good they are.
