I’m really happy with Windows 7 64-bit, I skipped over Vista, but nothing could have been worse than Windows ME . That OS was horrible, crashed quite often and had some weird quirks and would slow down to a snails pace from time to time, luckily XP came around soon after and relieved me of that vile thing.

“Windows XP, Vista, or Windows Seven or ‘something else’”… Wasn’t the question rather “which Windows do you use?” Otherwise, it’s amazing on a computer-oriented site not to hear at least about some Linux and Mac OS in a reply to such a question…

yeah I think I had more blue screens on that thing than all other windows OS combined. M.E. = Malfunctioning Edition

Windows XP 32 Bit & Windows 7 X64 are the two best OS in the world.I skipped Vista too & Microsoft themselves admit that Windows Vista is like Apple’s iPhone 4. ;)

I skipped Vista also, i`m with 7 from its first day!

Andy, have you tried Windows server 2008 r2 workstation?

I will receive a Windows 7 Professional 32/64 bit version for following Microsoft’s Administration courses in 2 weeks :D anyway Windows 7 is the bets nowadays, but can’t wait for the Windows 8. I saw some concepts and they were looking great :p

To beat that I’ve got a full release of 7 Ultimate N via MSDN :D Admittedly not my subscription but a guy I know let me have a copy :)

  • thebigbadwolf

I’ve got Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and it suits me fine :) Not missing any features from Ultimate etc… as half the things it has extra, i wouldn’t use.

Currently using Win 7 64 bit and Linux Mint Debian . & thought to bump this thread a bit to see what others are using along with the release of Ubuntu ‘Naty’ I skipped most of Ubuntu 10.xx and preferred #! Crunchbang [Squeeze] in the meantime for my daily Linux boot.

I just “upgraded”, or should I say, downgraded to Natty this morning. It’s absolutely totally awful. I think I’ll wait 6 months till Ubuntu 11.10 is released to boot on Linux again… Or maybe if I find the time I’ll give Fedora another try.

I have not been much of any of the Ubuntu based repos for most of the last year myself. Did find Mint for some novice Linux users to be pretty good for daily stuff and keeping their Win 7 boots a whole lot cleaner. On one of my older rigs still have a Sid install built up from a ‘net-install’ like it a lot .very light & crisp running on some older hardware>>i.e AMD Athlon 2200 XP 2 GB ram 7600GS MSI 6570 mobo in a older ‘classic’ Lian Li PC7 .

Could be interesting to heat what other are running as well.
    thanks
