Today we are looking at the Virgin Media Freedom netbook. This particular netbook comes free when you sign up to a Virgin Media broadband package and comes supplied with an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1gb ddr2, 120gb hard drive and integrated sound and graphics. It’s perfect for travelling with but be warned it’s quite small.

This netbook is great if you’re the type of person who does work on the go as its very light and small so is easily transported. This does however have its downsides. It can be quite fiddly for the builder type chaps with chubby fingers and for people with bad sight, the 1024×600 resolution is going to be limiting. Speaking of the resolution, we found that some of the system windows (computer properties and display properties) were cut off and the “ok”, “cancel” and “apply” buttons were missing. Also, after using the netbook for some time, it kept rotating the screen by 90 degrees or sometimes 180 degrees. This proved very annoying and tedious to change back. Maybe it’s a keyboard or mouse shortcut? Either way, this netbook is free with Virgin Media’s broadband package, so you can’t complain too much, and if you do, you can always sell it? Due to this, i’m giving this netbook 3 out of 5 stars.
