Conclusion

I have always tried to lecture friends, family and even members of eTeknix about power supplies. This is mainly due to the fact of when i was growing up, my expertise wasn’t as great as it is now, and i foolishly went a bought a 550watt Qtec Gold power supply. I had heard a few bad things about them, but it has the word “gold” in the title so it must be good, right? Wrong. Within 2 days, it had blown up, and then upon researching i found a lot more bad press. I then had to buy another power supply, and ended up buying an Enermax 600watt and at that point, i realised that you should NEVER skimp on a power supply. The Thermaltake Toughpower Cable Management is no exception. If you have a power hungry machine like a Core i7 running multiple heavy duty graphics cards, then this PSU is one to add to your shortlist. It has multiple 12V rails, overload protection and is from a brand that you can trust. As well as being modular, it operates at nearly silent, Anyone would be pleased with it, but remember it is a specialist PSU, as most consumers wouldn’t need more than 650watt. Therefore making this a power supply for a niche market due to the expensive price tag. Due to its high price point and specialist target user, i’m giving this power supply 4 out of 5 stars.
