Today we are looking at the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition AM3 processor. This specific CPU runs at 125w and is AMD’s flagship processor at the present time.
I think we can all safely agree that AMD are starting to get back on track and with rumours of them hitting 4ghz stock by 2010. This can only mean good things, and giving intel some competition along the way. From the results, we can see that it gives some very good benchmarks and bang for buck it wins hands down compared to Intel’s more expensive core i7. If you shop around, you can find this for around £150 and with the ability to clock it to around 3.7GHz, it will have a place in my shortlist for a long, long while. The only downside, is it being 125watts, it runs quite toasty, due to this i’m going to give it 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you to AMD for supplying eTeknix with this product.

No longer their flagship model 3 months down the line, but still one of the best value for money Quad Cores on the market.
I don’t think enough buyers are even considering AMD at the moment due to the poor products that were offered in comparison to C2D. This will probably help them in the long run tho as they fight hard to regain the crown.
