Today we are looking at the Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA-II hard disk drive. This particlar drive comes with a 3 year warranty, is quiet whilst not ruling out being very quick too. Lots of hard drives on the market are quicker, but you compensate by having a noisy drive. This drive has all the features you would want, from a trusted manufacturer.

If a hard drive lasts the 3 years it will most likely last the 5 years, so whats the problem?
Alot of people completely forget about warranty a couple years down the line anyway and will just buy a new product, as getting a warranty replacement doesnt mean you will get a brand new drive, it will probably be reconditioned/refurbished.
Had those at work plent of times and thats for RMA replacements for brand new drives that were never used, just doa on delivery. :O
Typo has been fixed, sorry.
Ignore the 5 year warranty bit in the video. Sorry, my fault

These drives only have a 3year warranty not a 5 year one!
There is one big issue in your review, the warranty is not 5 years, but rather 3. Seagate had made this change more than a year ago. Essentially all OEM notebook and desktop drives are 3 years, while OEM enterprise drives and retail drives (be it notebook or desktop) still carry the 5yr warranty.
For Example, according to seagates warranty checker, the drive in the images, warranty expires Jun 1, 2012 (assuming that I read the serial# right as 6VM29S31)
