I noticed that most 2.5" hard drive enclosures do not use eSATA. If you want eSATA with a 2.5" hard drive enclosure, you will still need to feed it power somehow (power brick or USB cord). It sort of decreases the product's portability and ease of use, which I guess is the main reason why manufacturers haven't really pushed towards 2.5" HDD enclosure with eSATA support. Plus, I believe that most 2.5" hard drive enclosure end up being used in conjunction with a notebook, and it's rare to see a notebook with eSATA connectivity.

Yea, I wihsh more manufacturers would use esata for the speed. Ended up picking up a similar drive for someone for Christmas.

seagate all the way. regarding the space i would say it`s too small for me. let`s think about 1tb. but still i hate that part with extra power.
