Great news for city simulation aficionados: EA is offering SimCity 2000 for free until the end of Thursday. SimCity 2000 offers all the fun of the franchise, with none of the always-on DRM and server failures of SimCity 2013. The only bad news is, the game only available through EA’s much-derided Origin platform. Once downloaded, though, it can be played on offline mode, so you only need engage with Origin briefly.

Usually costing $5.99, SimCity 2000 is available for now, but there is no hint as to how long that will last. If you want it, head over to Origin now.
