Synology intros their latest DS212 and DS212+

Synology, the world renown Network Attached Storage manufacturer, has today introduced their latest products in two versions appealing to both businesses and home users; the DS212 + and the DS212.

“With the launch of the DS212+ and the DS212, Synology has ushered in an advanced hardware design that delivers fast data transfer rates, and in the meantime, allows the system to run quieter,” said Darren Lin, product manager of Synology Inc.

The DS212+ provides small and medium-sized business with high-performance business application while the DS212 provides many applications without breaking the bank suitable for both home users of business workgroups.

Both featuring hot-swappable hard drives, the DS212+ and the DS212 connect through USB 3.0, allowing overhead room of 5Gbps transmission speeds, while in RAID 0 configurations they will exceed speeds of 109MB/s and 54MB/s respectively. Both also come with one SD card slot providing a plug-n-save solution while the DS212+ also features one eSATA port for another backup option.

Both of these not only befriend mother nature with only 19 watts of power consumption in operation and less than 8 watts in hibernation, but they also beat the sound of rustling leaves with only 19.8dBA of noise level thanks to the drive-noise damping features.

Running on DiskStation Manager, currently at version 3.2, this famous application will make every complicated things a simple task, while it will facilitate the hard work thanks to its versatile, snappy, intuitive and multi-tasking web-based user interface.
