Entry level cards for casual gaming or simple Full HD playback.

MSI has today released two new models of the R6570 graphics card, each aimed for entry-level market.

Starting from the top we have the R6570-MD2GD3, which is equipped with 2GB Vram giving a larger frame buffer, especially for high resolution monitors. It’s also equipped with the Military Class III Concept Components, including SFC and solid capacitor, offering higher reliability and longer lifespan even when under heavy load.

Gamers are also given the option to record in-game scenes in real time and share them with friends within MSI’s exclusive overclocking utility.

Using the MSI Afterburner overclocking utility, gamers will be able to adjust the clock speeds to their needs and to gain better performance.

The R6570-MD2GD3 is very similar (to the extent of having the same name) yet it features only 1GB of DDR3 memory on a 64-bit memory bus. This version will also cost less than the other.

Display outputs offered on both version include DVI, VGA and HDMI.

No price or release date have been given, and even though featuring rather low specs when you come to think about what’s on offer today, these entry-level solutions present a good alternative for those who either don’t have between 300-500 bucks to spend on high quality graphics card or for those who just want to enjoy Full HD content and casual gaming without going overkill or breaking the bank.

With Battlefield 3 being one of the hottest games of 2011, we find Club3D offering the 6950 with CoolStream cooler with a Battlefield 3 bundle.

Dubbed one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Battlefield 3 saw pre-orders galore and when it finally arrived, a lot of consumers were sadly let down by their systems, with the intense game needing a lot more juice than first expected.

This gave graphics card manufacturers the chance to revamp a card, add new features or even just bundle in the game for good measure.

The Radeon 6950 is classed as one of the best bang for buck cards on the market, giving a good balance of performance while keeping a few pennies in the bank at the same time. Due to this, it instantly became a hit with consumers and they flocked out to buy them in abundance.

Today we have a Radeon HD 6950 from our good friends at Club3D. It may look standard, but it is basically identical to their patented CoolStream card, but comes with Battlefield 3 included. CoolStream is the cooling technology behind Club3D’s graphics cards, and as we’ve seen in other reviews of their cards, it really is a great cooling solution, so we’re eager to see how this card performs.

Gigabyte along with Zotac and MSI has announced its 448 core variant of the GTX 560Ti. The GV-N560448-13I card is based on Gigabyte’s own GF110 PCB comprised of ultra durable components. They have also equipped it with Gigabyte’s high performance Windforce cooler which for this card consists of a large vapour chamber with copper heat pipes and aluminium heat sinks as well as three 80mm fans. Nvidia reference clock speeds are maintained in this card but as you might expect there is significant headroom to change the 732MHz Core /1464MHz CUDA /950MHz Memory (3800MHz effective) configuration. This card obviously packs 448 CUDA cores compared to the old GTX 560Ti which had 384. And it uses, like the GTX 570, 1280MB of VRAM across a 320bit bus.

The Asian based graphics card vendor Colorful has unveiled its custom designed GTX 560Ti graphics card based of the GF-114 processor. It uses a GF-110 sized PCB but with a GF-114 chip and uses the extra space to fit a large 8 phase VRM design that is capable of delivery up to 300W of power to the card through three 6 pin PCI-E connectors. This card employs high-grade chokes with driver-MOSFETs as well as a large amount of voltage read checkpoints. The card features VGA BIOS loaded into separate EEPROM chips, which are switchable using a switch on the rear-panel. The memory chips are Samsung made as expected and have also been binned for the highest overclocking potential.

What is really unique about this card is the built on expansion capabilities it has. On the front side it has a mini PCI-E slot and on the rear side a SODIMM slot but without any additional information except pictures it is difficult to speculate what these have been designed for. All of this is pretty intense stuff so to cool it all down there is 10 heat pipe cooler design with two large fans probably 92mm. The product will be designed for the Asian and European markets as usual but we have no idea on pricing and final clock speeds but given the custom nature of this product clock speeds should be very high and the pricing will not be that close to a standard GTX 560Ti.

Although there have been no official releases from Nvidia with regards to the naming structure of the next generation of 28nm based Video cards we now know they will be called the 600 series. This was realised after Nvidia’s 285 beta drivers showed up two entries for Nvidia 600 series cards:

“NVIDIA_DEV.1058.01 = “NVIDIA GeForce 610M

NVIDIA_DEV.0DE9.01 = “NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M”

The two chips are obviously both mobile graphic parts as indicated by the M and the relatively low number in traditional Nvidia progression of X10 (i.e GT 210M) being the slowest while X90 (GTX 590) is fastest. The fact that only these two relatively low end chips are being coded into the drivers would suggest Nvidia is going for a bottom to top release or it is starting with these mainstream low end cards first and the more advanced cards will follow a bit later on. It is believed these chips are the GK107 Kepler chips that have been circulated around in the news a lot in the past week.
