Introduction
Turtle Beach are one of the most established gaming brands around, having created a wide range of headsets for every budget and every major format, including PC and mobile devices, consoles, and more. While I must say that their high-end equipment is amazing, it comes with a high price tag to match, something that’s not really suitable for a lot of day-to-day gamers and consumers. Their latest headset, the 60P comes in a nicely affordable £39.99, not for off the RRP of most games and it is a far cry from the £250 for the flagship Turtle Beach hardware such as the 800X. With that price in mind, this obviously isn’t going to be the greatest headset that Turtle Beach has ever made, but I am eager to see how much quality and performance you get in return for your modest investment.

Designed for use on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, the 60P is going to be ideal for Sony console gamers, as it’ll use the USB amp to deliver amplified sound. However, since it also comes with a 3.5mm jack, you’ll find it will be backwards compatible with a huge range of audio devices, such as the PC, mobiles, tablets, mp3 players, even the Xbox One, albeit without the bonus of extra amplification.
The packaging is nicely designed, giving us a quick run down of the main spec, such as the powerful stereo drivers, microphone monitoring and the in-line remote.
Around the back of the box, a quick run down of the features, such as the in-line controller and USB connector, but we’ll take a closer look at this in a moment.
In the box, you’ll find a USB to 3.5mm adapter, this also has the built-in amplification hardware, so it’s nice and easy to set up. There’s also a detachable boom mic, an RCA pass through cable and the usual documentation.
