Acer Announces Price Increases Effective February 20 Amid Rising Component Costs
Acer has announced bad news today. The company has officially confirmed that it will increase prices across its entire product catalog.
The price increases will take effect starting February 20, according to a statement first released by Acer’s division in Japan.
According to Acer, the continued rise in production costs for key components, especially RAM memory and SSD storage, has made it impossible to maintain current prices. The shortage and strong demand for NAND and DRAM technology have put pressure on the entire supply chain. As a result, manufacturers are being forced to pass part of these additional costs on to consumers.
This decision follows a similar strategy adopted by other technology companies such as ASUS, Maingear, and Framework, which have also announced price adjustments for their products.
Products Affected by the Price Increase
Although the measure will first apply to Acer’s official online store in Japan, it is expected to impact global markets as well, especially devices that heavily rely on memory and storage components.
The following products are likely to see price increases:
- Consumer and gaming laptops
- Pre-built desktop computers
- Tablets and devices that use flash storage
On the other hand, peripherals and accessories that do not include memory or storage components may avoid these price hikes.
Acer has confirmed that customers have until February 19 to purchase products at current prices. After that date, the new pricing will be applied.
If you are planning to upgrade your equipment with Acer products, it is recommended to complete your purchase before the deadline.
