Acer has recently introduced two new monitors in Japan, both of which enter in the ultra-slim category; the S235HLBii and S230HLCii
Those LED-backlit LCD monitors are both 23″ and in terms of features, they are very similar. Sporting resolutions of 1920×1080, 5ms response time, 250 cd/m2 maximum brightness, 1,000:1 static contrast ratio and viewing angles of 170/160 degrees.
While the S230HLCii features a rather standard design, the S235HLBii on the other hand features a more stylish approach to the stand, with a sharp-edged design with smart base, it also houses the connections on the back.
The major and rather surprising difference is that, while the S235HLBii is HDCP-capable with connectivity of up to two HDMI and one D-Sub analog input, the S230HLCii isn’t HDCP-capable and only features a D-Sub analog input.
Availability and price remain unclear.
