Acer Predator X34 34-Inch G-Sync Monitor Review

Have you invested a small fortune in a high-end gaming PC, with one or more of the fastest graphics cards on the market, a powerful overclocked CPU, and more? Then you’re likely in the market for a high-end display that can reveal the visual potential of your gaming system, and that’s where the Acer X34 comes into play! Of course, not all monitors are created equally, but this one is certainly a little more extreme than most, and it has a spec sheet that’s so mighty it’s only matched by its enormous price tag, so don’t expect to get much, if any, change from £1000!

If the cost of the monitor wasn’t enough, be sure you’ve also left some pennies over for a good quality desk too. This monitor clocks in at a staggering 34″ in ultra-wide 21:9 format, so it’s noticeably wider than a 34-inch 16:9 widescreen. It’s also pretty darn heavy too at around 10KG, and it’s got a large durable stand, and a curved display, so a deep and sturdy desk is pretty much essential. Still got a few grand in your budget? It comes with an ultra-slim bezel design, so you can always buy three of them and get a 102-inch wide 43:6 gaming setup if you wanted to, but let’s get back to reality for a few moments shall we.

With a massive curved display, Nvidia G-SYNC, built-in DTS sound, ZeroFrame bezel, an IPS panel, built-in overclocking, 100% sRGB colour, built-in ambient lighting and more. The X34 is easily one of the coolest monitors ever created concerning specifications, but what’s it like to live with and how does it perform? Let’s find out!

Epic gaming all around you

An UltraWide 34″ curved display sucks you into the game, NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ keeps gameplay smooth and built-in DTS® Sound speakers bring the noise. Predator ColorPlus and ZeroFrame design enhance a vibrant IPS1 display that will blow your mind with stunning colour.

Curved immersion

Get into your games with an intense 34″ curved 21:9 display. The curve helps you catch incoming threats and shows you more of your favourite places. Game worlds take on a whole new level of immersion, and your gaming experience will never be the same again.

Smooth gaming

Get the buttery-smooth gameplay you’ve dreamed of. NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ matches the refresh rate of your Predator X Series monitor with your powerful GPU to eliminate screen tearing and minimise stuttering.

Crush the competition with extreme refresh rate overclocking. Boost to 100Hz through the on-screen display for the ultimate PC gaming experience.

Perfect picture

There are so many beautiful pixels on this UltraWide QHD display with Predator ColorPlus technology. 100% sRGB gamut and 6-axis colour adjustment make games pop and IPS1 technology cranks up colour to the max.

Made for gamers

Get an in-game advantage with Predator GameView. Custom Dark Boost settings let you see in the dark and Aim-points help you get more kills. Tweak and save settings with three custom profiles for ultimate domination.

Aggressive design

Level up your desk with dynamic angles, cool ambient lighting and a futuristic aluminium base. ZeroFrame design allows for seamless multi-monitor configurations. Your gaming setup has never looked this good.

Epic audio

Pump up the sound with two built-in 7W DTS® Sound speakers. World-class audio is coming to your gaming experience.

Reduce fatigue

Stay in the fight for hours with Predator EyeProtect’s Flicker-less, Blue-light Filter, ComfyView and Low-dimming technology. Give your neck a break too, with flexible tilt and height adjustments.

Packaging and Accessories

The box that the X34 comes in is a stark reminder that you’ve just received a £1000 monitor. It’s big, it’s heavy, and for some, it may be a two-man job to move it around safely. The box is very strong and much larger than the monitor, which is already big in its self, allowing lots of room for durable foam padding inside to keep it safe in transit.

The monitor comes with a protective film applied to all plastic surfaces, and a soft foam material is covering all of the metal components, ensuring it’s free from scratches once you take it out of the box.

In the box, you’ll also find a heavy duty mounting plate, DisplayPort cable, HDMI cable, power cord, USB cable, and the usual documentation. Now, let’s get everything setup and take a closer look at what it has to offer.

  • This is a fantastic monitor however you do have to be comfortable with editing game files etc. as very few games natively support the Ultra Wide setting let alone correctly. When it does work though it really adds to the immersion.
