One can rely on the Storage test to test SSDs and external hard drives, as well as the system drive.

Putting the drive through the PCMark7 secondary storage suite, we can see that even if the drive was used as a boot drive, the read performance is only a little down on what we usually see from a fully fledged SSD like the S510 that we looked at earlier in the year.
