Aerocool Advanced Technologies has just unveiled its brand new Dead Silence 230 PC chassis, which will be showcased in Germany during this year’s Gamescom event. As the successor of the highly appreciated DS Cube and DS 200 cases by Aerocool, the DS-230 has a lot to live up to, but it looks like it manages to tick all the right boxes when it comes to looks and practicality. It comes with a sleek exterior design and with passive noise cancelling capabilities, as both its side panels as well as the removable top cover are equipped with two layers of noise cancelling materials. When it comes to looks, the brand new LED illumination system immediately stands out thanks to its seven available colors and three different lighting modes, namely always on, breathing and pulsating.
This lighting system is linked to a pre-installed PWM fan controller, which puts out different LED colors for different fan speeds. Inside, the compartmentalized space for the PSU, hard drive and main components benefits from plenty of airflow, and it supports optimum cable management, which is always nice. The chassis can accommodate up to two 2.5-inch and three 3.5-inch drives as well as graphics cards that measure up to 413 mm in length, and CPU coolers that don’t exceed 170 mm in height. The front or top area of the DS-230 can house radiators for water cooling systems, while a pre-installed 120 mm PWM case fan provides good airflow right out of the box.
