Alpenfohn release their latest K2 Twin-Tower CPU Cooler 1

Alpenföhn have recently released another CPU cooler, which will add its name in the long list of it many successful predecessors, the K2 Twin-Tower is now entering the scene.

The engineers at Alpenföhn are no stranger to high quality coolers, as is shown in this cooler. Today’s air coolers are becoming so advanced they easily reach the liquid cooling’s performances, and the two massive towers of the K2 certainly look like they mean business.

Completely covered in nickel, with the eight heat-pipes embedded in Copper, this massive cooler weighs around a kilo, and while mass doesn’t equal better performances, it can be when used properly. Each contact between heat-pipe, cooling fin and ground plate feature high-quality solder points to increase the performance to the max.

Right out of the box, the K2 comes with two fans, a 120mm for the front and a 140mm in the middle, all from the famous and successful Wing Boost design, a third can be added to increase the performance. Although multiple colours are available for the fans, only the black/white version is sold with the cooler, which shouldn’t let the style down by any mean.

Aiding in a better control is an included splitter, which allows for both the PWM controlled fans to be connected to the CPU fan usually found only once on the majority of boards nowadays.

Not only does it perform great, it’s also very silent, with the lowest noise of 10dB for the 140mm, the max producing  only 25dB, the 120mm and the 140mm still push around 106m3/h of air, making the K2 in its entirety an impressive performance/noise cooler. To aid even more in silent operation, the fin design has been improved to allow a clean air flow, making it as good to look at as its cooling abilities.

The accessory list is very thorough as well, Alpenföhn is really centering about quality once more. The sockets being supported feature the most popular and the most modern with Intel’s 775, 1155, 1156, and 1366, as well as AMD’s AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1.

The Alpenföhn K2 CPU Cooler is now available for a price of €74.90 at
