AMD Ryzen 7000 X3D CPUs to Arrive Next Month – CES 2023

As part of their official CES 2023 showcase, AMD was exceptionally busy with their announcements. In fact, you could potentially argue that between Nvidia, Intel, and themselves, Team Red probably had the most eye-catching event in terms of product launches.

So, with this in mind, what did they announce? Well, firstly we have the news that the remaining Ryzen 7000 SKU will be completed on January 10th with the release of the relatively low power (65W TDP) Ryzen 7600, 7700 and 7900. – Is that not good enough? Ok, how about the fact then that Ryzen 7000 3XD processors will be set to arrive as early as next month? – Yeah, I bet that got your attention!

AMD Ryzen 7000 X3D CPUs – Set for February!

As part of the showcase event, AMD has confirmed that at some point in February (next month) we will see the official consumer release of the 7800 X3D, 7900 X3D, and their new flagship 7950X3D. – And in regards to the latter, AMD is already claiming that this will represent the world’s fastest gaming processor with it seemingly beating the Intel i9-13900K by a margin of around 10-25%.

Now you do, of course, have to take AMD’s gaming performance figures with a grain of salt. Additionally, we should also note that AMD only mentioned the i9-13900K with the somewhat small matter of the Intel i9-13900KS, which is apparently set for launch later at CES 2023, clearly not being addressed. – With that being said though, if the AMD Ryzen 7950X3D can beat the i9-13900K by as much as 25%, this should (at least in theory) be enough to, at the very least, see it go toe-to-toe with the i9-13900KS.

The only factor which has been raising some eyebrows is that following a report via TechPowerUp, AMD has confirmed that only one of the two chipsets on these upcoming Ryzen 7000 X3D processors will actually feature the X3D technology and although an asymmetric cache setup isn’t unheard of, this isn’t what most people were expecting from the upcoming CPUs.

However you choose to view it though, Ryzen 7000 X3D is here and will be set to arrive on shelves within the next 4-8 weeks!

What Do We Think?

While the Ryzen 7000 X3D is clearly the standout news from AMD’s CES 2023 showcase, we should again highlight that Team Red also confirmed the launch of low-power orientated CPUs from the standard Ryzen 7000 series which will hit retailers on January 10th. Additionally, AMD also confirmed the upcoming release (no specific date cited yet) of new RDNA3-based mobile (laptop) GPUs which AMD claims will give the Nvidia 3000M series a really solid run for its money.

Let’s be honest though, with Ryzen 7000 X3D now confirmed for release next month, this is undoubtedly the key headline from the event. – If you do, however, want to catch all the news from the AMD CES 2023 showcase video, then you can check it out via the link here!
