AMD’s RX 6750 GRE is a China exclusive GPU available in both 10 and 12GB variants which may not be doing so well in the market. Apparently these cards are receiving many discounts provided by retailers and AMD isn’t too happy about it.
From a post on mydrivers.com (wccftech)an internal notice has allegedly been issued to AIB brand manufacturers and distributors which require the price of the 6750 GRE to be strictly controlled, this price being 2149 yuan (£236.83) for the 10GB Variant and 2379 Yuan (£262.18) for the 12GB variant. It’s said that currently the 12GB variant can be found for just 2249 Yuan (£251.16) which AMD is not happy about.
Reports suggest that if AMD finds online sale prices lower than the minimum price, they will issue penalties of 500 Yuan (£55.09) for the first three cards found under the minimum price. If AMD finds a fourth card then the fine goes to 1,000 Yuan (£110.18) and the retailer will stop receiving cards to sell.
Only time will tell if these penalties are enough to keep the prices where AMD wants them, but it’s a fairly big fine to pay.
