AMD Launches the Ryzen 5 5500F and Ryzen 5 7500 for Its AM4 and AM5 Platforms
AMD‘s AM4 platform has been around for 10 years, and it seems to remain alive with the launch of new products.
AMD has added two new models to its catalog, one with the AM4 socket and another with the newer AM5. We are talking about the AMD Ryzen 5 5500F and Ryzen 5 7500. Both processors have a 6-core CPU from different generations and offer users another option for either AM4 or AM5 motherboards.
AMD Keeps 10-Year-Old AM4 Platform Alive With New Ryzen 5 5500F
The AMD Ryzen 5 5500F is a processor with 6 Zen 3 cores and 12 threads, without integrated graphics. The base speed of this processor is 3.0 GHz, although it can reach a turbo speed of 4.4 GHz. It belongs to the Vermeer architecture, has 16 MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 65 W. If you have a motherboard with an AM4 socket, you will only have to wait for a new BIOS update if you plan to add this CPU to your PC.
In addition to this, AMD has also added the Ryzen 5 7500, which is basically the already existing Ryzen 5 7500F with integrated graphics enabled. It is also a CPU with 6 Zen 4 cores and 12 threads, with a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and the ability to reach 5.0 GHz. Here we find a total cache of 38 MB and power consumption of 65 W. As for the integrated GPU, it comes with two RDNA 2 compute units and can reach 2.2 GHz.
For now, there are no official prices from AMD, but we will surely see them in stores soon and find out how much these two new processors will cost.
