While graphics card stock has significantly improved over the last 6 months, it’s hard to deny that their prices haven’t been falling anywhere as quickly as many consumers believe that they should be. – While top-tier models from the AMD and Nvidia range have seen decent discounts with retailers over the last couple of months, more entry to mid-tier models have either stubbornly kept or only slightly wobbled around their MSRP price tags making them, with next-gen releases just around the corner, hardly a tempting proposition.

Following a report via Videocardz, however, information has appeared online suggesting that by the end of this month, both AMD and Nvidia will launch new and aggressive price cuts for their current-gen GPU models. Yes, within the next 2 weeks, it might finally be time to strike!

AMD & Nvidia Current-Gen GPUs to FINALLY Enter an Aggressive Price War?!

Although no specific figures have been suggested, it’s understood that supply chains and AIB partners have been informed by both AMD and Nvidia that they will shortly instigate new and aggressive pricing strategies in order to, in a nutshell, clear out the apparent masses of current-gen stock. – Why would they do this you ask? Well, with next-gen models just around the corner, it seems pretty clear that both companies, and particularly Nvidia, are terrified that they’ll have absolutely masses of last-gen tech that they can’t move any more!

“According to the news from the supply chain, at the end of August, NVIDIA and AMD will take more aggressive actions to reduce the price of graphics cards, of which NVIDIA will cut prices more than AMD.”

The rabbit hole does go deeper, however, with the suggestion that Nvidia is going to be notably more active in their price cuts. It is even being suggested that specific GPU models such as the 3090 Ti might become available for under £1,000 with certain AIB partners which is certainly more than a little encouraging for more entry to mid-tier models such as the 3060 Ti and 3080.

Put simply though, even despite the fact that Radeon 7000 and Nvidia 40XX is only around the corner, if the deals are going to be as good as we hope here, perhaps now might finally be the time to strike!
