AMD R9 380X 4GB Graphics Card CrossFire Review

Noise, Power Consumption and Temperatures

Noise

Here is something that you could probably see coming a mile off. The Sapphire R9 380X is one of the best designs for acoustics, whereas the XFX model was one of the poorer models. In Crossfire configuration, the XFX doesn’t get any worse but it is still very loud.

Power Consumption

To maintain a stable card, the XFX model had to be overvolted slightly which skews the overall figures. That being said, the dual cards pull a lot of power, 406W in Heaven benchmark and 506W in Furmark. Take the Furmark figure with a pinch of salt as that is maximum load and not gaming load.

Temperatures

Temperatures aren’t shown very well here, the XFX model hit 83c, but with the lower temperature Sapphire model only hitting 73c. That’s slightly higher for the Sapphire model due to the additional heat of the second card.
