AMD Radeon 500-series NITRO+ and PULSE Graphics Cards from Sapphire Pictured

A new crop of AMD Radeon video cards is due to arrive on April 18, so naturally the number one Radeon video card manufacturing partner Sapphire will have new models out as well. Included in the initial release according to VideoCardz.com will be NITRO and PULSE RX 580 and RX 570 graphics cards with 8GB and 4GB models that use custom dual-fan cooling and a shroud design that is similar to the style Sapphire employed in the 400-series video card release.

The Sapphire RX 580 NITRO+ graphics cards have a DVI-D connector, two HMDI and two DisplayPorts at the rear IO. It also comes with a backplate and LED-lit Sapphire logo on the side. This card is slightly wider than the actual PCB with the large 8mm thick nickel-plated heatpipes extending around and the backplate with the shroud extending with it as well. This allows Sapphire to integrate larger 90mm fans rather than 80mm fans. It uses an 8-pin and a 6-pin power connector like what was visible with PowerColor’s RX 580 Golden Sample so this seems to be a design inherent to the new 500-series Radeon graphics cards.  There will also be a Radeon RX 570 NITRO+with a Polaris 20 XL GPU underneath.

There will also be a Sapphire RX 580 NITRO+ LE (limited edition) model that has 8GB of memory sports a gun metal gray shroud finish instead of black and is factory overclocked.

The PULSE model on the other hand has a similar shroud design as well, but has a different backplate, smaller heatpipe heatsink design and having only a single 8-pin power connector. It will be available as a Radeon RX 580 as well as a Radeon RX 570. It also uses 90mm fans and extends wider than the PCB. The heatsink has a large block that cools both the GPU and the GDDR5 memory surrounding it with three 6mm thick heatpipes and has independent heatsink for its VRM MOSFETs. For display output, it also has a DVI-D port, two HDMI and two DisplayPorts.
