One of the new focuses of AMD’s RX 2XX series is a new era of audio ushered in by the new AMD TrueAudio experience.
AMD’s TrueAudio experience certainly has an advanced feature set but the main jist of it is a programmable audio pipeline for select RX 2XX GPUs that allows for the down-mixing of up to 20+ audio channels into a stereo output for improved locational accuracy and quality of in game audio. AMD TrueAudio also allows audio to be processed on the graphics card and relieve some of the stress placed on the CPU. What difference AMD’s TrueAudio makes is yet to be heard, and I know some have been sceptical of it labelling it a gimmick, so we will have to wait for AMD TrueAudio capable games to be released before any judgements can be made on its value.
