AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT & 7900 XTX Review

Doom Eternal

Hell’s armies have invaded Earth. Become the Slayer in an epic single-player campaign to conquer demons across dimensions and stop the final destruction of humanity. Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power in DOOM Eternal – the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat. Armed with a shoulder-mounted flamethrower, retractable wrist-mounted blade, upgraded guns and mods, and abilities, you’re faster, stronger, and more versatile than ever.

Available now on Steam.

As we move onto Doom Eternal at 1440p, we see some strong numbers across the board, again with the 7900 XT sitting 5% faster than the last generation AMD flagship, though the RTX 4080 still comes in with stronger performance overall, but again, the cheaper 7900 XTX manages another 3% more performance over it, making it a better proposition, along with better 1% lows than all of the cards tested.

The RTX 4080 fights back at 4K with very similar figures to the 7900 XTX and with better 1% lows as well, though at 302 FPS, I wouldn’t be upset with such a strong performance in the first place, while also having $200 in my pocket at the end too.

  1. AMD pulled an Nvidia: in the same way that nobody wants the 4080 over 4090 nobody wants the xt over xtx – awful prices from team red- they copy Ngridia a little too much. Wasn’t chiplets supposed to be cheaper?
