AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE Offers Performance Close to the RX 7900 GRE
With the launch of the new AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE in China tomorrow, the first tests comparing the performance of this exclusive model are now available. This model comes with 12 GB of VRAM and specifications that are slightly lower than the previously announced Radeon RX 9070. This setup allows it to offer similar performance to one of NVIDIA’s rivals, the RTX 5070, at a very similar price.
Radeon RX 9070 GRE
The RX 9070 GRE comes with a configuration that is slightly lower than the Radeon RX 9070, featuring 3,072 stream processors (ST) and 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a 192-bit bus. The price of this model is 4,199 RMB, which is roughly 580 USD. This price is slightly lower than the Radeon RX 9070. What’s interesting is the performance this model offers for just over 580 USD, as the tests gathered by VideoCardz show that the Radeon RX 9070 GRE has similar performance to the RX 7900 GRE from the previous generation.
Comparing the RX 9070 GRE Performance with Competitors
This RDNA 4-based model gives a 0.8% better performance than the Radeon RX 7900 GRE. It was also compared with other cards like the RTX 5070, where it showed similar performance in games, but it outperformed the new RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB by almost 25%. However, when compared to the Radeon RX 9070 XT, the GRE model falls about 25% behind in performance.
We hope that with these numbers, AMD will decide to release this model in other regions to take full advantage of its very competitive price, especially compared to its competitors.
