AMD Releases Adrenalin 21.2.1 – Game-Ready for ‘Medium’

AMD has officially announced the release of its latest Radeon Adrenalin 21.2.1 graphics card driver update, and while it does come with a number of moderate fixes and improvements, the key focus of the new launch is undoubtedly it bringing game-ready support for the highly-popular PC gaming title ‘Medium‘.

As part of the official update notes, AMD has cited the following fixes and optimizations brought in the new 21.2.1 graphics card driver update:

Support For

  • Medium: Up to 9% increase in performance in The Medium @ 4K High settings, with Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.2.1 on the 16 GB Radeon RX 6800XT graphics card, versus the previous software driver edition 21.1.1.

Fixed Issues:

  • Display flicker or corruption may be experienced when two displays are connected to Radeon RX Vega series graphics products with at least one display set to a high refresh rate.
  • Screen flickering might be observed when using MSI Afterburner.
  • Radeon recording and streaming features may fail to enable on AMD Radeon HD 7800 series graphics products.
  • Some models may fail to render or may render incorrectly when using SketchUp on Radeon RDNA graphics products.
  • Some Samsung CRG9 series displays may experience a black screen when waking from sleep.
  • Metro Exodus may experience intermittent application crashes with DirectX Raytracing enabled.
  • Video playback on secondary displays may experience stutter while playing Doom Eternal on the primary display.

As always, if you already have AMD Adrenalin 2020 Edition installed, then a quick check should prompt you to download the latest version. If it doesn’t, however, then you can learn more (and manually download it) via the link here!

With it coming with some useful fixes, if you are particularly planning on playing some ‘Medium’, this update seems more than a little worth the time and effort to download and install (9% performance increase?!).
