Ryzen news just keeps coming thick and fast this month, and we can’t get enough of it! Today another big leak, this time from within an Alienware Area-51 R3 system (like the picture below), which featured a new CPU, most likely from a completely new range of chips that have yet to be revealed.
The chip in question is a 12 cores CPU, which features a staggering 24 threads, and most likely uses the HEDT X390 platform. What’s even more interesting is that it doesn’t appear to be a server chip, as we already know AMD are cooking up their 16-core 32-thread variants for the workstation/server market, so this could potentially be something like the Ryzen 9? We’ll have to wait and see.
The chip will use the new X390 platform socket and comes with a turbo clock of 3.2 GHz. for it to be appearing like this likely means it’s quite close to being a qualification sample, and we would expect to be hearing more about this new chip in the coming weeks.
