Even with Ryzen so close to launch, the exact date AMD will reveal their new processors is still a mystery. So far, we know that is had to happen before March 3rd before GDC ends. Some reports have indicated March 2nd as the potential date. However, more recent reports have pointed to February 28th. AMD also announced a new live stream event on the 28th, lending credence to those reports. Luckily for us, a retailer has now leaked and confirmed the launch date on the 28th.
According to Belgian online retailer centralpoint.be, the R7 1800X, R7 1700X and R7 1700 will all be launching on on February 28th. As the same date as AMD’s Capsaicin & Cream livestream, that event may be the potential launch platform. Given the Capsaicin name, not only will we be getting Ryzen, we may also get another sneak peak of the Radeon Vega GPUs.
In addition to the launch date, we also have some more pricing information revealed. Excluding VAT, the three models from top to bottom will retail for €499, €389 and €319 respectively. This is in line with the other leaks which have all been around the same point. Interesting enough, there are 2 listings for the R7 1800X and R7 1700X with one coming out €20 more. While AMD is reportedly not including stock coolers with these models, perhaps the €20 option is with the cooler included?
