Ashes of the Singularity
At stock clocks the Ryzen 1700 doesn’t look to be doing too great, a staggering 5FPS behind the 1800X. However, when overclocked to 4.0Ghz, just 0.1GHz behind the clock speeds we got from the 1800X, there was just 1FPS difference, not bad at all! That being said, this score still isn’t great, but Ryzen and Ashes just don’t work well together at the moment, although AMD stated that they’re working with developers to fix this asap.
Cinebench R15
Once again, we see the same thing, with the R7 1700 lagging behind at stock, but breathing down the neck of the 1800X when overclocked, I wonder if we’ll be seeing this pattern throughout all testing?!
Handbrake
Ryzen set the slowest speed here, although overclocking helped it keep up with the stock 1800X, the 1800X was able to pull further ahead while overclocked.
WPrime
A very similar result here too, with the overclocked R7 1700 coming in very closely behind the 1800X. If you can keep this chip under a big cooler, it’ll most likely go toe-to-toe with the 1800X all day long, assuming you score lucky on the chip lottery of course.
WinRAR
This test didn’t go so well for the 1700 either, and compression speeds were not great. Overclocking does help a lot, though, but the Ryzen 1700 was still around 8 seconds behind the 1800X.
