AMD Ryzen R7 1700X 8-Core 16-Thread CPU Review

Power Consumption and Temperatures

Power Consumption

Power consumption is where would expect it, between the 1800x and the 1700 while overclocked. Not sure why it’s using more juice at stock, but that’s just the way it rolls I guess.

Temperatures

8-cores in a tiny chip, that’s going to get pretty toasty. The 1700X did clock 1C higher than our 1800X, but that’s likely due to the 1800X chips being the better chips of the crop in the binning process.

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
