AMD’s dual-core E2-3200 Llano details released

While lots has been said about the quad core big brothers and other Llano APU’s not much has yet to be said about the dual-core desktop variants.

More specifically the E2-3200, which we expect to be released after the A4-series APUs in Q4, will have a clock of 2.4 GHz, 1MB of L2 cache and a 65W TDP. The graphics part of this APU has been called HD 6370D and is likely to be very similar to the HD 6410D found in the A4-3400 except it is not offering Dual Graphics Support. The E2-3200 will only support 1600 MHz DDR3 memory.

Finally MSI will be able to fill in the gaps.

The Radeon HD 6370D found in the E2-3200 has 160 stream processors and a 443 MHz GPU clock and while the rest of the E-series of APUs are based on the simpler FT1 package the E2-3200 joins the A-series with the FM1 package. Hopefully by the time these are released we will understand fully what all this means. This APU will also have no support for AMD Turbo Core, but at 2.4 GHz thats not a bad start!

Slowly but surely we are starting to see pricings coming out for Llano and we have very recently found that the motherboards are being released from £50 upwards and as the more powerful quad-core A-series APU’s such as the A6-3650 are set to launch from £90 we expect the E2 series to be much lower down the pricing range. This could make for very interesting competition as you will be able to buy a complete Llano package very cheaply indeed, hopefully the performance is as good as we suspect.
