AMD have made plans to release the Radeon 8000 Series GPU in the second quarter of 2013. Currently AMD is going through business re- organization due to poor performance during Q3 2012, which resulted to putting their campus property on sale and reducing the production of their chips via GlobalFoundries.
AMD’s share in China’s discrete graphics market has fallen as low as 30% so they need to catch up quickly and hopefully the AMD 8000 series can do just that, but Nvidia is set to release an enhanced version of Kepler GPUs in 2013. As of now Nvidia is set to release Tegra 4 in the 1st half of 2013 and will showcase it at CES 2013.
